Harrier provides highways contractors with a UK-manufactured, economical, efficient solution road marking removal and spill recovery. The equipment is supplied with Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA), a legal requirement to operate on UK highways.

What Harrier offers

Precision Paint Removal

  • No shadowing, slip or glare, as associated with burning or overpainting processes.
  • Reduced consumables, as only water is required (e.g. no abrasives).
  • Debris recovery collected for environmental disposal.

Retexturing

  • Ensuring the integrity of both the micro and macro texture are optimised.
  • Maximised operating time.
  • Deep cleaning, otherwise known as back to black.

Spill recovery

  • Rapid deployment
  • Potential to avoid road closure
  • Safe recovery of surface contaminants

How it works – deep cleaning without damaging the surface

1
Fresh water tank
2
Inlet water boost pump
3
Progressive 10 and 1 micron water filtration system
4
Ultra-high-pressure pump
5
UHP rotary head
6
Debris slip tank
7
Vacuum pump

Harrier uses an ultra-high-pressure water pump capable of delivering laser-like jets of water to the highway surface through the rotary jetting head at pressures up to 2800 bar. This may be used for applications such as, paint removal, retexturing and porous asphalt cleaning. Water and debris is then removed from the head under vacuum, leaving an almost-dry surface, ready for the highway to be opened immediately or for coating/line markings to be applied, and causing no damage to the highway surface.

Harrier comes in a range of configurations from 18 tonnes upwards. Jetting heads that can either be chassis mounted or on the remote Raptor units connected by umbilical.

Key Features

Harrier’s unique design removes the need for tipping tanks and their associated hydraulic systems, and replaces them with fixed tanks that use a sloped base to simplify debris disposal. Optional internal wash systems are available.

This reduces unit cost, maintenance and the risk of plant failure, whilst reducing the turnaround time for operations.

Harrier comes in a range of sizes and jetting head configurations to suit all scales of projects, allowing you to choose the best solution for your operations.

The Harrier and Raptor D quickly remove accumulated debris to expose the original textured surface.
The articulated head means painted lines can be easily followed and removed with minimal overlap of unpainted areas.
Slip tank – Sloped debris tank base for easy emptying without the complexity of tank tip.
Dirty water drain and pneumatically opening rear debris door.
Debris chute.
High stability UV and corrosion resistant polymer fresh water tank.
Highway Maintenance compliant vehicle markings with optional LED arrow boards.
On-board secure Raptor garage with ramp for side loading.
Pump house with sound reduction, security and weather protection.
10 micron and 1 micron water filtration for increased pump, nozzle and valve life.
Optional roller shutter doors – lockable for security.
Articulated chassis-mounted jetting arm as an optional extra – front-mounted to increase visibility from within the cab.
Computer optimised nozzle placement for efficient water distribution across the jetting path to maximise effect whilst minimising risk to the pavement.
Standard road going chassis – mass produced, available spare parts, easy maintenance.
High visibility beacons.
Hydrostatic creep drive for low-speed control as an optional extra.
Power take off from chassis engine* for improved environmental footprint with lower maintenance and emissions. *No auxiliary engine advantage as Red diesel duty subsidy is forecast to be cancelled in 2022.
Overhead boom connection for remote Raptor auxiliary vehicle.

The Harrier Range

Harrier 26

The Harrier range feature the Jetting Systems’ twin stainless steel tank design with a fresh water tank securely fixed to the ladder chassis and a cylindrical debris tank with hydraulic door locks, fully opening door and the ability to tip into a standard builders skip.

Based on 26 and 32 tonne chassis, the Harriers offer a minimum of 4 hours run time at maximum pressure and flow rate and comes with the Patent Pending Safe Deployment System (SDS) and a Raptor D  mobile unit as standard.

Harrier 32

The Harrier range feature the Jetting Systems’ twin stainless steel tank design with a fresh water tank securely fixed to the ladder chassis and a cylindrical debris tank with hydraulic door locks, fully opening door and the ability to tip into a standard builders skip.
